MORE GAME TIME

The 24 years old French winger and former Manchester United player has failed to make any real impact in Newcastle United, ever since he joined back in 2011 with a transfer fee of around £3million.

Throughout this season he has only made 1 appearance and it when he came as a substitute during the match against Leeds in the Capital One Cup. Obertan himself stated the situation he is currently going through as he stated his desire to leave the club if things don’t change.

“I will see what’s going on until December, and I’ll see what’s best for me and the club. I can’t obviously keep being on the bench and not being involved. It’s a test mentally.

Despite not being a regular and consistent player for Newcastle United, Alan Pardew assured the player that he indeed is part of his future plans. The online betting markets aren’t so sure though, with Unibet making it odds-on that Obertan will leave in the next window.

“His pace is still a real asset to us – especially when we take the lead. He can come off the bench and stretch teams.

“He came off the bench against Leeds and could have had a couple of goals.” Alan Pardew stated.

If anything is certain, it’s the fact that time is ticking but no evident changes are seen from the coach so it just a matter of time until he exits the clubs he joined 2 years ago.

Loic Remy and Yohan Cabaye have eclipsed Obertan with their consistent performances that keep Newcastle United fighting in the middle section of the Premier League standings.

With only 19 minutes having been played for Obertan it just looks to be like a hopeless situation for the former Manchester United player.
