Manchester United are planning for a big summer with the club looking to strengthen after a disappointing season. One player that has been linked with a move to the club is Lyon forward Moussa Dembele.
Despite taking a while to settle at the club, he has scored 19 goals in 49 appearances for the team which is a good return. One reason while Dembele is excellent for United is that he is used to the type of football in England.
He spent a few seasons at Scottish champions Celtic scoring 51 goals in 94 matches before making the move to France last summer. It is reported that Lyon value the forward at £40 million and United are ready to match their valuation for the player.
It is believed that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man behind the move as he looks to bring in younger players that can adapt to his tactics. Dembele at his best is a physical forward who has the ability to play with his back to goal as a target man.
His pace and dribbling ability also makes him an excellent outlet for quick incisive counter-attacks. His arrival could mean the end for Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku has struggled this season despite a brief run of form under Solskjaer.
His has not hidden his desire to play in the Italian league at some point in his career with Inter Milan and Juventus reportedly interested in his services. Dembele is a quality player but is he really the player that United need for instant revolution.
We can only wait and see how this transfer develops in the coming weeks.
